About Brahma Temple

The Brahma temple is situated 7 kms from Valpoi and 60 kms from Panaji in the village of Brahma Carambolim in the Satari taluka. It is the only temple in Goa that is dedicated to Lord Brahma and is also one of the few important temples found in India that is dedicated to Lord Brahma.

 

Brahma is the Hindu god of creation and one of the Trimurti, the others being Vishnu and Shiva. The Brahma temple is known to have been built in the 5th century, AD and is thus considered to be an ancient pilgrim center for the Hindus in Goa.

 

The image of Lord Brahma seen in this temple is known to have been bought to Kormoli or Carambolim in the Satari taluka by a large section of devotees who escaped the religious intolerance.

By Air: The Dabolim Airport lies just 29 kilometres from the state’s capital, Panjim. It is well connected by daily flights from Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Cochin and Bangalore.

By Rail: The two major railheads in Goa are Madgaon and Thivim, which are well connected by trains from all over the country.


By Road: There are a number of public as well as private bus operators in Goa, which offer options for intra-city and inter-city conveyance. KSRTC, MSRTC and KTC are some of the Government undertakings that operate from Panaji, Madgaon and Vasco Da Gama. Private bus operators include the likes of Neeta Tour and Travels, Paulo Travels and Naik Tours and Travels. Goa enjoys daily bus service from important cities like Mumbai and Pune.
